History

Tubbs HardwareTubbs Hardware has had its roots in Bossier since 1922.

Don Tubbs went to work for Holmes Hardware in Bossier when he was 12 years old and swept the very floors he would own when Mr. Holmes sold Don the store when he was 19. Don's dad died soon after he graduated from Bossier High School, and he said, "Mr. Holmes was like a father to me."

Later Don built a bigger store at 615 Benton Road and expanded to include lawn mowers, parts, services, outdoor cooking, rentals, and Cajun gifts. Tourism is a fun part of their city location.

Don, a country boy at heart, moved his family to Benton where they went to school and enjoyed the country life. Loving the Benton area, it was only fitting to build a second location there. Tubbs country store specializes in Toro/Exmark mowers, STIHL outdoor power equipment, utility trailers, outdoor storage buildings, porch furniture, and country hardware.

"Less time mowing, more fun grilling with the family," is Don's motto. Toro/Exmark zero-turn mowers give you more time to grill on the Big Green Egg, the world's greatest smoker/grill. Twelve months same as cash and E-Z financing is always available.

Tubbs provides master service centers in both locations on all product lines that Tubbs sells. Service after the sale is critical, and Tubbs has it. "I give God the credit for providing me with wonderful people. Curtis Harvey is my right hand man in Bossier and Chad Smith in Benton. Both Curtis and Chad are very knowledgeable and customer service minded. I thank God everyday for all our staff members and good loyal Ark-La-Tex customers.

Tubbs is open six days a week and closed on Sundays and major holidays to give their people time to spend with their families and church.
